What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Contact forms
Data captured on the contact form is your email address and name for the purposes of subscribing you to the mailing list. Contact form submissions are kept until you unsubscribe to the mailing list
If you sign up to our mailing list we may send you newsletters and marketing emails, which you can unsubscribe from by clicking the link at the bottom of the email.
We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter and marketing emails. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice.
We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.
You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998.
